I'm a fan of Van Dyke's short stories and am enjoying getting to know his poetry. I personally find the shorter poems in this collection very good but don't enjoy the longer ones as much. That's more of a personal preference than a comment on his abilities as a poet though. Some favorites of mine are:If All the SkiesThe Child in the GardenThe Three Best ThingsHenry Van Dyke isn't very well known today but he's worth a closer look.

Very inspiring and insightful poems, artfully composed. Helps one meditate and get away from the rat race that characterizes life today. I recommend it to all young people.

I like Van Dyke's work, but the poems are not as good as his other writing. His prose and story telling are much better.

My favorite Van Dyke poem is not in this book, which is why I gave it 4 stars
