Initial sanding of
the two fill coats of resin. Makes a good looking canoe ugly in a
hurry. A Random Orbital Sander is THE way to do this sanding.

Another 2 fill
coats. The hull is starting to get level here. There are still a few
low spots that I want to get rid of. My full coats are only about 5 or
6 ounces of resin each coat, so very little weight is added. These
coats are VERY thin.

Painters hole up
close and coated with resin. The mahogany matches the redwood very
nicely.

Nose on again. The
resin is laying down fairly smooth. A little bit of orange peel
(bumpiness) but otherwise not bad at all.

Seat frames in
progress. Bow seat on the left, Stern on the right. These are made from
walnut. Strong and matches the dark cedar well. The seats will be hand
caned (not pre-woven) once I get the frames drilled and varnished.

The right gunwale is
in progress. Seat frames in thier rough positions, and a piece of
walnut in place for the yoke. I think the yoke will end up being spruce
and mahogany. The outside also has another iteration of sanding and
epoxy resin on it. The bow deck is also in place.
