The Interior now has
the fill coat of epoxy. It actually added a fair amount of rigidity as
it filled the glue joints between the strips. My fill coats were rolled
on with a 4 inch felt nap roller. It semed to work fairly well, though
it left a couple of fuzzies here and there.

Just finished the
interior glass. Not as hard as I though it'd be. It took three of us
about 2 hours to do. I mixed small batches as the RAKA epoxy seemed
fairly fast. Now it's on to the spruce and mahogany gunwales and
finishing touches. You have to let the hull sit for 2 weeks before
sanding to allow the resin to fully cure.

Interior with the
glass and two fill coats. Sheer line cut. Two pieces of spruce for the
gunwales sitting on the roller racks behind the boat. Mess on floor
finally cleaned up.

Here's a nose on
view showing the shape of the sheer line. The fiberglass that was
sanded from the hull can be seen reflecting from the hull as well as
felt needling my fingers.

Outer gunwales are
in
place. They are made from Spruce and are two pieces spliced. No luck
finding anything longer than 16 feet.

The painters hold up
close. There is a block of spruce on the interior with mahogany for the
outer sections. A bit scary cutting into the hull for this but it had
to be done.
